I’ve finished the eighth in the sequence – titled The Clockwork Knight. The sales for the first book are coming in, and I’m awaiting reviews with the mix of nerves and excitement, which all authors do. However, all things aside, I’m excited for the reactions and the things I’ve got planned for later books.
The second book ‘The Vengeful Poet’ will be released in the later part of 2021, and continues Ron and Zephyrus’s adventures, following on but also allowing new readers a jumping on point.
There’s also the perennial pull for other projects which is a matter of time and resources. At the moment, I’m writing and creating, and seeing the books out there. No lists but actions in the real world and there’s always more to come.
Thank you for your support and kind words. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch with anything you liked or didn’t about the book.

I love the Lightning Thesaurus! I really like the premise of the book, and having finished it I understand (I think) the meaning of the title (which had intrigued me in the first place,) although I’m still not certain why Mercer hates Zephyrus so much. I usually don’t read Fantasy, and I wasn’t sure I was going to like the novel starting out. So as I got into the plot it really grabbed me, and I enjoy the style of writing, and after finishing the kindle version I decided to start over at the beginning and read the paperback. Ah…the experience reminded me of why I prefer paper books to kindle books…I like the tactile feeling of books, the way they smell and the ease of flipping back and forth for better understanding.
I like Ron Brandywood, the character, and Zephyrus too. I wish Ron would have been able to continue his relationship with the woman. Also, although I think I understand the “lightning thesaurus” concept as some magical linguistics exercise. This is an ingenious plot development, and I would have liked to have more details about it. I am a writer myself, and linguistics is one of my loves.
I’m glad that there are more books in the series, and I plan now to buy them all and read them. I really like your style of writing, and ability to bring meaning and context to your situations and thought with admirable rationing of words.
I’m glad I decided to follow your novels and fiction writing. A bonus is that it gives me the pleasure of reading interesting and escapist literature, while also serving as an encouraging boost to jumping into the business with my own books.

First of all, thank you. Your kind comments have made my day. With linguistics and phrasing, future books touch on it, without trying to slow down the pace too much and also later on, the midwives, Moira’s organisation come into it more as the story develops. That you say all these wonderful things and feel encouraged to go for it is the best praise I can receive. Please do it, I’ve never regretted a single moment since making this my purpose and I look forward to your own work in the future. Mind if I share this because it’s such a beautiful comment.

Sure, you are welcome to use my comments. I could also do a review for Amazon, etc. Sorry I forgot Moira’s name, and referred to her as ‘the woman’ intending to go back and check her name, I’m ashamed of myself. 😉

A review on Amazon would be great thank you so much. No, I have to keep notes and I wrote them. I really appreciate you reading the book at all, and to be so honest about it is a gift.

The title is what hooked me, and I’m so glad I ordered the book, and Amazon had it here in about two days. I’m a fan now.

How many books have you published so far? Is Lightning Thesaurus the first Ron Brandywood? I’m confused…which is not unusual.

The Lightning Thesaurus is the first Ron Brandywood book and the second will follow later on this year. I have other writing available here: https://mbblissett.com/my-books/. Don’t worry, the most surefire sign of wisdom is the ability to say ‘i don’t know’ and mean it.

I’ve just completed the second read through of The Lightning Thesaurus and can say, with absolute sincerity, that the second and all subsequent instalments of Ron Brandywood’s escapades can’t come soon enough for me. This character has pretty much everything. He has passion, loyalty and principles in abundance, yet he also has the ability to inflict untold levels of pain upon those that deserve it. Treat yourself to a bit of Brandywood, There’s not that much of him, but what there is is awesome.

Whatever Ron Brandywood lacks in stature he more than recoups in character and ability. I read The Lightning Thesaurus twice, and can’t wait for others in the series to be released.

I really, really enjoyed Lightning Thesaurus. I enjoyed it the first time I read it, on the kindle, and I got so much more out of it on second reading. I like to read paper books, as it is easier to flip back and forth to re-read or check passages.

I used to think I would never use the Kindle, but I find it convenient. I wish it would have been available when I was traveling a lot and spent time reading on airplanes and in airports. Long ago…my daughter is always pointing out “that was 30 years ago.” 🙂

I admit to having berated more than one customer service person for assuming that because I’m old I must not be computer-literate. I always tell the smartasses that I had computers before they were born…true that.
The real reason I prefer a paperback book is that it props up relatively easily under the covers with a pillow-stand. It hurts my hands to hold the Fire (its not really a Kindle) because my hands are arthritic and the plastic case is unforgiving.
