prime directive

Just another day

On this satellite

Who sees the face

Beneath this expression

Can’t you tell I was

Walking around

Dreaming awake

The luminescent fields of song flowers

Their dawn chorus making my pediflaps

Undulate with pleasure

Something was supposed

Ordained

To happen

I was posting the letter which

Started it all off

When I saw you

And that wanton

Smile

And like every episode of every

TV show

I decided the Prime Directive

Protocol

Plot Device and Prohibition

Could go fuck itself

I crossed the road

To ask you

Your name

And what the symbols on your

Fingers

Meant
