Soft grunts in

The waxing light

Beneath a crumpled

Duvet sky

Sheets warm from sleep

Claiming you before the

Day begins

Having you gush

As I take you,

Pinned beneath me

It’s all my fault

My responsibilities packed

Into each touch

Capable of a loving violence

Predator and prey

Touching to feed and made

Inventive by the need

To fill you with life,

Feeling my mark

For days

And how after I hold you

Close, inhaling your skin

Like the drug
