Sonata for Moon and Tide

Above you,

Aglow with reflected light,

You ebb and flow,

Tides of feeling reaching upwards,

Receding as my gravity

Attracts and repels,

Yet here we are,

The spray of your constant change,

Drifts upwards,

I feel its mist on my surface,

Seeping through into my core,

Yet I remain,

I inspire calm and storms,

With the same resilience,

How any fragile craft upon

Your surface fears our mutual

Coupling,

Fierce and gentle in the same instant,

I face the wrath without being touched by its

Violence but how this moon

I am, hung above in perfect symmetry,

Wants the sweet storm of you,

Baby Girl,

A wave large enough to

Soak me

Once again.
