Inside

Inside

I am wild

With abandon,

Consummate companion,

Weathering the storms

Of you with a smile,

Amused by the dichotomies,

As the perfume of you

Heightens my senses,

Stood apart,

In polite company,

I lean over and whisper

How I want to rip you apart,

Risking irritation,

For the truth of

My feral poet’s heart,

And in truth,

Your words are a point of view

Unsupported by the hungry light

In your eyes.

I know you enough,

Patient in my hunger,

Thinking of how you will

Shudder at my touch,

Not from horror

But the sweet release

I offer and take
