Bedtime Stories

When you shiver

and it’s not my touch

When you hunger

And it’s not for me

When it’s late

And you are not curled

Around me, warm and safe,

Call to me,

There is nothing in the dark

fiercer than I

Gentle as i am, you raise

Up the beast in me

And i will bring you meat

I killed

to a fire

I built

Where the only thing which will

hurt you is me

And even then

You would come to me

on your knees and

Ask

For it.

Instruct you in my image

Tell you stories as you

Drift off to sleep

To this story I tell,

Soft as my kisses

Strong as my fingers

Pulling your hair
