Invented Tradition

I appear

As palimpsest,

Layers of experience,

Wisdom and understanding,

The triumphs and truths,

Atop one another,

And I have shown you,

What lies beneath,

You know,

And remind me,

When you speak to me,

For sometimes I forget,

Demonstration through,

Actions and they are eloquent,

In ways language cannot

Define,

How your cheek feels

Against my fingers,

The sensation

As you pulse against

My lips,

I know the layers of you,

In return,

The divine archeology,

Of your self,

And each layer,

Shows me how we complement

One another,

Ancient treasure,

Not invented tradition.
