Your Prometheus

monument_by_ikarusthefirst-dbbre0x

I watch the sky

The day begins

Wishing to die

Sun burning skin

My chains are tight

My back it aches

Day and night

Each hour takes

The vulture calls

I twist away

It starts to fall

The world goes grey

Its claws sink in

Its beak is sharp

Tearing my skin

Towards my heart

I do not scream

I do not cry

This is no dream

And I know why

My theft was just

My intentions true

I paid the cost

For loving you

The fire you use

I gave to you

I take the abuse

The whole day through

Chained and bound

To this stone

Through you I found

A sense of home

You’re warm and free

For ever, thus

Remember my love

Your Prometheus
