I have scars

Splitting my fur

But most inside

Turned inside out

I would resemble

Something monstrous

Lattices of cruelties given

Some on purpose

Others by accident

But i am not ugly for them

Returning to unhindered breath

Able to find wonder

A persistent faith

To cross world’s oceans

With words as herald

I hum with warmth

Made me strong and gentle

There still burns

Passion here

It would be quite

Something for someone

To have the courage

To touch them

Make peace as i have

Love past circumstance

Into forever
