Storm In An Orchard

The world throws all it can

At you, within and without

I stand before you

Because it suits me

To protect you

And each blow thrown

Cracks the veneer

I would love to show

You the soft places

Within me

Hidden beneath the armour

Of purpose and determination

I breathe in your presence

Your beauty makes me wild

I would mark you

With sweet bouquets of pain

Playful punishments

Instructions for you to simply

Rest in your feelings

I would take the weight of

Decision from you when it

Got too much to bear.

Come, let me crush you

With kisses

Until you spill

Damp and flowing

Fruit picked at its height.

Ripe upon my fingers
